English-language TV

English IPTV: English-language TV wherever you live

Moved abroad, live in a bilingual home, or simply prefer programs in English? Internet TV lets you keep English-language news, sport and entertainment on your screen in any country. Here is what to expect and how to set it up well.

Who it helps

Three situations we see every week

  • Expats and remote workers

Local TV is in another language, and you miss the news and shows from home.

  • Bilingual families

Children grow up with two languages; English cartoons and documentaries help keep both alive.

  • Long-stay travelers

Months away for work or study, with a tablet and a hotel or rental TV.

Where the English comes from

English-language categories in the guide

Channels are grouped by country, so English programming is easy to find. Line-ups change over time; ask us to confirm the channels you rely on.

  • UK & Ireland

General entertainment, factual, news and children’s programming.

  • United States & Canada

Network entertainment, news and sport categories.

  • Australia & New Zealand

Free-to-air style entertainment and news, where available.

  • International news in English

Rolling news channels broadcasting in English to a global audience.

Time zones

Making the TV guide match your clock

When you watch channels from another country, the guide can show their local time instead of yours. Most players fix this with one setting.

Example: you live in Spain (one hour ahead of the UK). A UK program listed at 20:00 airs at 21:00 for you. Set the EPG time offset to +1 hour, or set your device time zone correctly and let the app convert automatically.

Quick fix

  1. Set your device time zone

Use automatic time zone where available.

  2. Check one program

Compare a news bulletin’s real start time with the guide.

  3. Adjust the EPG offset

In player settings, shift the guide by the difference in hours.

English audio and subtitles on demand

In the films and series library, many titles carry more than one audio track or subtitle option. Look for the speech-bubble or “Audio” button in the player while a title is playing.

  • Set the player’s preferred audio language to English
  • Turn on subtitles for younger viewers learning English
  • Live channels broadcast in their original language

A note on watching from abroad

Broadcasting rights are often sold country by country, and the rules about what you may watch differ between countries. Check what applies where you live. Our terms ask every customer to use the service lawfully in their own country, and we respond to rights-holder notices under our copyright policy.

Can I watch English channels in a non-English-speaking country?

Technically yes — the service works over the internet anywhere with a good connection. Make sure you follow the laws that apply in your country of residence.

Will the channels be in English with local adverts?

Channels play as they are broadcast in their home country, including their own advertising and schedules.

Do I need a VPN to watch English TV abroad?

No. A VPN is not required to use the service. If you use one for privacy, choose a nearby server to avoid buffering.
